Why Bother?....GOOD LUCK TO ALL QCS PEOPLE!
First things first.
One thing that really confuses me is how people have the time to send hate mail and angry comments. If you really hate reading my blogs then don't fucking read them, pretty simple. If you really hate the band then why do you specifically waste your time on coming to our site to send retarded messages that consist of nothing but useless vulgarity that makes you look stupid? First you have to find us on myspace, then log in, then spend time thinking about what you are going to write, then send it and I guess you probably keep logging into your myspace to see if it has been read? It's all a bit pathetic to be honest. Why would you bother? You're wasting your time on something you hate, you are just proving that you actually have nothing better to do and it's really amusing.
I'm not just talking about it happening to us, but on a grand scale...shit like this happens alot. I mean we all know how to swear and feel intense hate for something but doesn't that give you more of an insentive to stay away? If anything it should repel you from something, not draw you to it. It might make you feel better by throwing abuse around, wait...typing abuse to us but it's sort of flattering how passionate you are about it, it's amusing. You are showing eveyone how much of a dipshit loser you are by wasting your time and actually having that time to waste. It's beyond me, it really is. If I hated a band, I wouldn't even dream of finding their site so I could tell them so, because that's just it, I don't think about them. Not a single minute of my time, why would you waste your time and energy doing that? Whatever. Enough of that.
I know I have been saying this for a while but Tim is supposed to be getting together a picture blog from Splendour. He will do it in due time, won't you Tim? Yes. Also thanks to all the replies on the whole Metro Station thing, I just found out they are coming to Australia but I doubt Billy Ray would be around but if he is, I am going to totally hunt down an autograph. I have been searching for shirts on ebay with his face on them, nothing that I like so far but there are millions of Celine Dion shirts! And vintage Hanson shirts circa MMMbop days are going for about $200.00 - crazy shiat.
Moving along, we have pretty much finished up touring for this year and are spending time at home to re-learn how to relax. It's wierd waking up in the morning and not having a lobby call to get to the next town and it's strange in general being at home. I guess when you go overseas you are exposed to so many different things. Everywhere I have been, whether the basis of the country is western society, everything is still so different. Like in the UK for instance you can drive for an hour from town to town and their accent will be totally different to the last town you were in. And when you tour in the UK there are so many places you can play! It's different compared to Australia, for example a national tour for Australia is about 10 dates - that's only if you include regional cities. When an International band comes over and tours Australia they have about 4 or 5 shows, that's if they include, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. Alot of bands come through and just do Sydney and Melbourne.
But touring in the UK is like 30 shows, luckily the drives between cities over there are shorter. Unless you are driving from one end to the other, like if you were driving from London to Scotland that would take a good 15 hours. Europe is a little different. France is easy to get to because it is so close to London, you take the euro tunnel and are there quick smart. Probably about 3 hours max, with stops and all. But it's just cool how driving from UK to Germany you pass through I think 4 countries within 15 hours. It goes France, then I think it's Belgium then Holland. Okay so 3. I am probably boring you.
But things are just so different. In Europe for instance you can drink from 16 and even if you are younger they don't check that stuff, some people might see this as dangerous, but it really isn't. They are allowed into bars in controlled environments where they can drink. It means you won't find kids late at night sitting in a park getting drunk and breaking shit. Whilst breaking shit can be fun, you just don't see it in Europe, cause they are usually allowed in the bars. Not much loitering goes on there because they have freedom and it just feels safer and everybody seems happy. But some of the things I have seen is amazing! Like seeing the Colloseum in Italy at night and all the amazing buildings, you get this wierd feeling, I can't explain it properly but I guess you could say that it's overwhelming. The detail put into the buildings, the actual size of the buildings and the way it has all been preserved for centuries! It is amazing to see something in real life that has been there since the dawn of time and that you read about and study at school. And also going to cafe in Holland means a different thing. Ha ha - i think you all know what I mean there.
I go to the states on my lonesome in about 3 weeks and am freaking out. I am not going to be able to do anything, go out anywhere. It's strange not being able to drink there and have access to things when you have been able to for ages. You have to be 21 to go out over there or drink. Can you imagine if we had to wait out that long? Of coarse most people don't but those that do would probably go totally off the rails. I know some people that have had really strict parents and haven't been able to do anything until they were 18 and they have ended up being really sheltered and shocked when they are actually allowed out of their houses. I guess not all parents are like this and some people find ways of going under the radar about it, but those that didn't end up going nuts and losing all self control. I cannot even imagine what it would be like in the US. I'm not bagging out US or anything but just wondering.
I think I will be spending most of my time in NY and then going onto LA and then coming home, only to leave again on a holiday to Tokyo - I am so excited, I am taking my sister, I don't think she has been on a proper holiday for ages! Not since we were kids. We don't do family holidays anymore. My family is pretty disfunctional and it usually ends up being a Malcolm in the Middle type scenario, but really funny at the same time. The only crime is usually not having a video camera on hand.
Okay so coming to an end, we have been working on new stuff and just mucking around with things as of late, so this time off has been productive, as I said it's just wierd getting used to. We have been touring flat our every since we started, wierd to think that we have been together for nearly 4 years now, I have literally watched my band mates grow up. When we first started Tim was about 14 and was really really short. He's a total dude now, towering over everyone and finally 18. Only one more member to go ha ha. In due time, in due time. Hope that you all doing well. And GOOD LUCK to all the seniors that are about to do their QCS. I think it is tomorrow. For NSW kids this is the QLD version of HSC.
And also remember that if you do shit, it doesn't matter too much, it doesn't mean that you suck at what you do okay? Universities also look at your other achievements and personality. So don't be too bummed out if you totally bomb out. I remember thinking it was the most important thing ever and your teachers and your parents will also tell you that it is, it isn't and don't freak out, because the test itself is pretty cruisy to take, they make it sounds scarier than it is. Man I have been out of school for 3 years now and from what I hear they are still telling kids the same fucking thing. But Good Luck nonetheless and do the best you can do. I'm doing a Dr Phil. Okay bye bye.
X X X Amandah.
